We also provide Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC) services, such as coil fittings. However, this service is temporarily suspended due to staff absence.
For patients requiring this service in the meantime we will be referring you to the LARC service provided at Axbridge and Wedmore Medical Practice.

We offer a wide range of health screening for men and women at our practice.
Hearing aid batteries
If your National Health Service hearing aid batteries need replacing you can obtain supplies of these free from the Practice. Please ask at Reception.
Non-NHS services
Some services available are not covered under our contract with the NHS. This means that these services need to be paid for.
The services that include charges are:
- Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements.
- Insurance claim forms.
- Passport signing.
- Prescriptions for taking medication abroad.
- Private sick notes.
- Vaccination certificates.
Our reception staff and GPs will be happy to talk through the charges with you during your appointment.

Women aged between 50 and 70 are advised to attend the Breast Screening Unit every three years for a mammography. This is to make sure we can check and detect any abnormalities as soon as possible. These appointments are sent out by the local Breast Unit.

Minor surgery
Our doctors provide a minor surgery service by appointment.
Travel advice, vaccinations and immunisations
We offer routine vaccinations and general advice to our patients travelling abroad.
The following travel vaccines are available free on the NHS at the Practice:
- polio (given as a combined diphtheria/tetanus/polio jab)
- typhoid
- hepatitis A
- cholera
These vaccines are free because they protect against diseases thought to represent the greatest risk to public health if they were brought into the country.
The following vaccinations are not available at the Practice and you will have to pay privately for travel vaccinations against:
- hepatitis B
- Japanese encephalitis
- meningitis
- rabies
- tick-borne encephalitis
- tuberculosis (TB)
- yellow fever
Yellow fever vaccines are only available from designated centres.
We need eight weeks notice before you travel to make sure we have vaccination stock, appointment availability and to ensure you have a full course of vaccinations.
Please let reception know if you need travel vaccinations and they will provide you with more information and ask you to complete a travel form
